Quite often, you’ll hear digital marketers raving about how successful one can become by simply building and email list and marketing to these people who are interested in what you have to offer. Signing up with an email marketing site is incredibly simple and can be done in as little as 3 minutes. Once you’ve created an account, you can create your first list.
Step 2: Building a list
Once you have signed up for a email marketing service, you’re ready to move on to step 2. No matter what type of website you have (a static website, a blog, or an ecommerce website) you can start building a list. Many webmasters implement a signup box within their content or on the sidebar of their website. There are hundreds of plugins that are readily available that make it incredibly easy and fashionable to start collecting emails.
Often times, you’ll see website owners who offer an incentive for users to sign up. Whether it be a discount on an order, exclusive reports, tutorials, or something else of value, this is often used to incentivize web surfers to join their email list. Emailing your list could not be simpler. Simply log into your email marketing service, and click “send mail” or something similar. Simply fill out the email title, sender information, and place the content of your desired email into the content area.
Within the content area, you can do many things. You can send them more information about a certain topic, tell them about a new blog post, or sell a product or service.
Putting It All Together
Now that you have all the pieces of the puzzle, it’s time to understand how you can make money from this. Once you have everything set up, you can setup an email campaign that virtually runs on auto pilot. By using Auto Responders and Timed Emails, you can effectively provide more value and earn a considerable amount of money.
When a user signs up to your email list, you should create an auto responder that thanks them for signing up and provides further value. This helps the web surfer confirm that they signed up & helps them remember your site.
In order to automate email marketing further, you’ll want to create an email campaign that posts automatically for a few weeks, streamlining the entire process. Note: It’s against the last to scrape emails found online and email them. Unless you’ve either (1) received an okay, (2) purchased an email list, or (3) had people sign up with your email list, you should not email them. It’s against the law and you can get yourself into some serious trouble.
